How to raise 22m € : the example of Uniplaces
## Event in English ##
Have you ever been frustrated by some administrative struggle while on exchange or annoyed by some transportation issues? University life is sparked with unexpected problems …
Miguel Santo Amaro, Ben Grech and Mariano Kostelec also had a concern when they were studying in England: it is sometimes hard to find proper accommodation for exchange programs!
What’s special about Miguel, Ben and Mariano is that 2 years after graduation, the three classmates reunited to launch Uniplaces in 2011 which aimed to eradicate accommodation issues for students. From then on, the start-up grew at an incredible pace: starting in June 2013, the start-up now offers more than 35 000 rooms in 9 countries and 39 cities and the team now exceeds 130 people. It created more than $25m dollars in revenue from bookings and secured funding up to $30m making it the global trusted brand for student accommodation.
Do you have a solution to a problem every student experiences and feel like bringing it to a large scale? Are you working on a project and want to get insight on how to manage its international expansion? Have you always dreamt of meeting a VC and now you’d like to know how to impress them with your project?
Then you may want to come our Uniplaces Creativity Talk and get inspired by Miguel Santo Amaro, co-founder of Uniplaces.
The event will be held in English and will consist of a short interview with two Start’HECers. It will then be followed by a Q&A session with the audience and a cocktail.
